Larvae of the family Chloropidae are mostly phytophagous and feed on seed, bud and stems of poaceus plants. These flies infect human, plants and also some species are parasitoid and predators of crop pests. This study was carried out in seven regions of East Azarbaijan province in order to collect and identify the grass flies occurring in cereal fields, during May to June of 2009- 2013. Six species belonging to five genera were identified which three genera, Camarota Meigen, 1830, Dicraeus Loew, 1873, and Cetema Hendel, 1907, and three species, Camerota curvipennis (Latreille, 1805), Dicraeus raptus (Haliday, 1838), and Cetema cereris (Fallen, 1820) of them are new records for the Iran fauna. Two species, Camarota curvipennis (Latreille, 1805) and Dicraeus raptus (Haliday, 1838) are reported from Iran as new pests of cereals.
